The Witch's guide to life by Kala Trobe

‘The Witch’s guide to life’, written by Kala Trobe, is exactly what it says it is: a massive 440 page guide which contains material on improving oneself mentally, spiritually and physically. It’s divided in three sections and 22 chapters.
It includes how to live when magick, philosophy and theology are part of your daily life.
The first section “Philosophy and Ethics” for example covers morality, love and sex, karma, mood swings,… She addresses many serious concerns such as drugs and suicide not found in other books. She offers great suggestions and ideas, never does she suggest she has all the answers. She encourages the witch to make educated balanced decisions that are correct for the individual.
The next section is titled “Factual Witchcraft”, which describes the sabbats, chakras and auras, the Qabalah, and divination. I wish the chapter on the sabbats was more extended, but it sure does give the basics. The diviniation chapter only discusses the tarot and runes. You get the chance to read a brief history of witchcraft and especially the last chapter of this section was one of my favorites: Who influenced the Witching World.
The last and final section is “Practical Witchcraft”. It gives information on tools, spellcasting, menstral magick, health and cooking.
Kala Trobe gives the first guide to incorperate magick and philosophy into everyday situations. It is not a “how to” book, but a commentary on living as a witch. It is a very honest, comprehensive look at life topics from a smart witch who practices what she teaches and encourages others to find their own path. A great read for both beginning witches and for long time witches who want to see things in a different light.
