BOOK REVIEW
The Witch Book; The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft, Wicca and Neo-paganism by Raymond Buckland. Paperback, 602 pages, Published by Visible Ink Press, 2002.
This book is one of my favorite reference books, my copy is starting to fall apart I refer to it so often. This is an A to Z listing of just about every topic related to witchcraft, wicca and paganism from abracadabra to zodiac - 560 entries. A comprehensive index and bibliography of sources consulted are included in the back of the book. A few black and white photographs and illustrations appear throughout the book.
I would call this more of a dictionary rather than an encyclopedia. Each subject is only given between one sentence to a few paragraphs of coverage. A very few topics listed are up to three pages long. This book is a good place to start when researching various pagan topics.
